Our Story
Founded by the inventor of modern air conditioning, Carrier is a leading supplier of high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions to a range of customers in all parts of Asia.
Carrier has a long legacy in India which dates back to 1936, when it installed country’s first ever air-conditioning system at Rambagh Palace in Jaipur. Carrier’s presence in India dates back to 1986, when Carrier India was established. In the year 1988, the first manufacturing facility was commissioned in Gurgaon, Haryana. Spread in an area of 19 acres, this state-of-the-art facility consists of highly automated manufacturing unit, an excellent R&D Center and an advanced quality clinic. Currently, products manufactured in this facility include cassettes, ducted splits, package units, air- and water-cooled screw chillers, air- and water-cooled reciprocating chillers, fan coil units, air handling units, refrigeration products and fire & security products.

Our Journey
The company has a long and heralded history filled with innovations, starting with Willis Carrier’s invention of modern air conditioning on July 17, 1902.
In April 1999, Toshiba Carrier Corporation (TCC) was founded as a joint venture between Carrier and Toshiba Corporation, with the focus on being a global provider of residential and light commercial HVAC solutions including VRF and heat pump products; Toyo Carrier Kogyo became a part of TCC.
In April 2020, Carrier Global Corporation became an independent and publicly traded company after successfully completing its separation from United Technologies.
In July 2022, Carrier Global Corporation completed its acquisition of TCC.
On May 1, 2024, the company changed its name from Toshiba Carrier Corporation to Carrier Japan Corporation (CJC), representing its identity as being a part of Carrier.
